State Police investigate fatal motor vehicle collision in the town of Deerpark NY

On July 29, 2026, at approximately 9:25 a.m., troopers out of the Greenville barracks, Orange County, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Peenpack Trail in the town of Deerpark

The investigation revealed that a 2007 Ford was traveling east on Peenpack Trail when the operator, identified as Robert S. Jahn, age 69, of Sparrowbush, NY, veered to the right off the roadway, sideswiped several trees, and entered a driveway on Peenpack Trail. The Ford subsequently sideswiped an unoccupied 2023 Chevrolet and a trailer before coming to a rest at an earth embankment.

Jahn was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Garnet Health in Middletown, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
