A preliminary investigation determined that a 2023 Ford Ranger was traveling westbound on State Route 206 through a posted active work zone. The operator, Kenneth J. Alberts, age 59, of McGraw, failed to maintain his lane of travel and struck a survey worker who was conducting testing outside of his vehicle on a closed portion of the roadway.

Troopers were dispatched to a report of criminal mischief on Glendale Drive in the town of Union. The investigation revealed that while utilizing Lyft, Brevard became upset with the driver, exited the vehicle, a 2021 Honda Pilot, and punched the rear window, causing it to break.

The Cortland County 911 Center advised a Trooper of a complaint of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado having issues maintaining a lane while on Interstate 81 in the McGraw area. The Trooper observed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on I-81 in the town of Cortlandville.

Troopers responded to County Road 38 in Bainbridge for a report of a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 that exited the roadway and struck a tree before coming to a stop. Stevens was evaluated by EMS on scene but was not transported to a hospital. A 27-year-old female passenger did not report any injuries.

During the three-day detail, Troop D members arrested 19 individuals on 68 charges, including 31 felony charges and 37 misdemeanor or violation charges. The investigations involved $11,650.60 in reported stolen merchandise, of which $6,396.44 was recovered and returned to the stores.

Update: The operator of the tractor trailer is identified as Shavkat Mallaev, 60 of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Mallaev was issued one citation. On August 8, 2026, at approximately 10:21 a.m., New York State Police in Rhinebeck were dispatched to a private residence on James Street in Rhinebeck, New York, for a reported EMS assist. A family member had responded to the residence for a weekly visit and, upon arrival, located the 96-year-old victim lying in her bed with significant bruising to her head and face, as well as apparent blood loss. The victim was transported to Northern Dutchess Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle involved in the incident was recovered by State Police after investigators determined Feliciano had attempted to conceal it. The investigation remains ongoing.

During the traffic stop, the operator, identified as Mauro E. Gonzalez Cante, 34, of Poughkeepsie, exhibited signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered. Further investigation revealed that two children, ages 10 and 13, were passengers in the vehicle.

The preliminary investigation determined that the 20-year-old male victim parked his vehicle on the eastbound side of the Bear Mountain Bridge before jumping from the bridge. The New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team responded to the scene; however, the victim was not immediately located.

On Saturday evening, August 8, the New York State Police, Troop G, received a tip reporting that the Toyota Prius had been located unoccupied in a parking lot at 199 State Route 990V in the Town of Gilboa, Schoharie County.
