Search Continues for Franklin County Man; $5,000 Reward Offered

Franklin County, NY – State and federal authorities are intensifying their search for Anthony Bechand, who remains at large after his vehicle was located in Franklin County on September 14, 2025.

On September 20, 2025, the New York State Police were joined by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Northern Regional Special Response Team, and multiple local law enforcement agencies in the ongoing effort to locate Bechand.

Investigators believe Bechand is still in the area and are asking the public for assistance. Residents with camps, trail cameras, or security cameras are urged to review their footage for any unusual or suspicious activity.

Bechand is described as:

• White male

• 5’11” tall

• 180 pounds

• Hazel eyes and brown hair

• Clothing description unknown

Authorities warn that Bechand may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police at 518-897-2000.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Bechand’s location.
