Potsdam Women Ticketed Following Tractor-Trailer VS Car Collision

On November 8, 2025, at approximately 7:17 p.m., New York State Police responded to a personal injury motor vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger car at the intersection of South Canton Road and County Route 35 in the town of Potsdam.


An investigation determined a 2019 white Subaru, operated by Emily G. Morse, age 26, of Troy, NY, with front seat passenger Elizabeth R. Morse, age 20, of Troy, NY, and rear passenger Michael Ngeyen, age 28, of Troy, NY, Emily Morse was traveling on South Canton Road approaching the intersection of County Route 35 in the town of Potsdam.  Morse failed to yield at the yield sign on South Canton Road, entering the intersection and striking the passenger side of a 1999 white Volvo diesel tractor-trailer operated by Brent W. Eggleston, age 50, of Hermon, NY.


Eggleston attempted to swerve to avoid the collision, lost control of the truck, exited the roadway, and struck a fence.


Emily G. Morse, Elizabeth R. Morse, and Michael Ngeyen were treated on scene and transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for further evaluation. Emily and Michael were treated and later released. Elizabeth was subsequently transported to Upstate University Hospital for additional treatment, where she is listed in stable condition.



Eggleston was medically evaluated on scene and found to be uninjured.



Emily G. Morse was issued vehicle and traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Potsdam Court at a later date in December.
