Police Seek Public Help to Identify Individuals and Vehicles in Hit-and-Run Collision

On February 6, 2025, at approximately 6:47 a.m., State Police responded to the Border View Grocery gas station on Ridge Road in Champlain for a hit-and-run accident resulting in personal injury. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Kia Sorento, driver, identified as Heather F. Spinner, age 44, of Rouses Point, NY, and passenger Matthew J. LaFountain, age 30, of Mooers, NY were parked when a half-green, half-black Chevrolet Silverado pickup backed into them and then fled the scene.  Spinner and LaFountain were medically treated by Champlain EMS for complaints of back pain.  Both signed off on more medical treatment at the hospital.

State Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify the individuals and vehicle involved in this hit-and-run collision. Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police at 518-563-3761.
