On October 14, 2025, members of the New York State Police arrested Amanda A. Ashley, age 42, of Ogdensburg, NY, for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (a class D felony) and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree (a class E felony).

The arrest stems from a report received on October 22, 2024, at approximately 1:39 p.m., from the Advocacy and Resource Center, regarding an individual suspected of falsifying records. An investigation determined that Ashley had submitted fraudulent reimbursement claims for Family Reimbursed Respite (FRR) and mileage during periods when her sons were not in her care. As a result, she received overpayments totaling $5,740.97.

Ashley was arrested and processed at the SP Ogdensburg. She was arraigned in the Town of Lisbon Court and released on her own recognizance.
