Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision on State Route 209 in the Town of Wawarsing

On September 30, 2025, at approximately 7:46 a.m., troopers from State Police Ellenville responded to a report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on State Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Hyundai, traveling northbound on State Route 209, failed to keep right and collided head-on with a 2004 Gulf Stream Conquest motorhome. Following the impact, the Hyundai became fully engulfed in flames.
The operator of the Hyundai, identified as Elsa M. Booth, age 36, of Ellenville, NY, was extricated from the vehicle and received emergency medical assistance at the scene. Despite life-saving efforts, Booth succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Gulf Stream Conquest, identified as Diane R. Delehanty, age 68, of Livingston, Texas, was also extricated from the vehicle and transported to Garnet Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
