3 Plattsburgh men charged after physically assaulting a victim

On March 23, 2026, New York State Police charged Larry W. Macey Sr., age 64, Larry W. Macey Jr., age 33, and Jonathon P. Shappy, age 38, all of Plattsburgh, with Gang Assault in the 1st Degree (cause serious physical injury). Additionally, Macey Sr. was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree.


On March 23, 2026, at approximately 4:42 p.m., troopers responded to Pleasant Ridge Road in the town of Plattsburgh for a report of a fight in progress. An investigation determined that Macey Jr., Macey Sr., and Shappy approached the victim at their residence and began physically striking the victim, causing physical injury.


All three were arrested and transported to SP Plattsburgh for processing. They were arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court, where they were remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond, or $50,000 unsecured bond.


The victim was transported to CVPH Medical Center with serious facial injuries.\
