On the evening of May 5, 2026, a serious motorcycle crash occurred on State Highway 7 in the town of Worcester, Otsego County. The New York State Police at Oneonta responded promptly to the scene after receiving reports of the accident at approximately 8:04 p.m. This incident involved a single motorcycle operated by a local resident, resulting in injuries and an ongoing investigation.

Details of the Motorcycle Crash


On May 5, 2026, at approximately 8:04 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta responded to a motorcycle crash with an injury on State Highway 7 in the town of Worcester.


An investigation revealed that Jacob Sprague, age 27 of Otsego, was operating a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle and traveling east on State Highway 7 in the town of Worcester when, for an unknown reason, he exited the roadway and struck a National Grid utility pole. Sprague was assisted by civilians in the area until EMS arrived. Sprague was ultimately transported by Lifenet to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.


The investigation is ongoing.
