State Police investigate a collision on US highway 11 in the town of Stockholm

On October 17, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., New York State Police responded to U.S. Highway 11 in the town of Stockholm for a personal injury accident.

An investigation determined that a red 2017 Jeep operated by Kristen L. Rozelle, age 50, of Norwood, was traveling southwest on U.S. Highway 11 when a water buffalo entered the roadway. Rozelle was unable to avoid a collision and struck the animal head-on.

Rozelle and her passenger, Lindsey Baker, age 27, of Potsdam, were transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for evaluation. Neither sustained injuries.
