SPO Hank Henry Joins “Lunch and Learn” Program at Irish Cultural Center

Oneida County Sheriff’s Office School Patrol Officer (SPO) Hank Henry participated in the Lunch and Learn Program at the Irish Cultural Center, where children explored the rich history of the Erie Canal through storytelling.

The event, titled Adventures on the Erie Canal, featured a special reading of Erie Canal Cousins by local author Dorothy Stacey. Both SPO Henry and Stacey engaged the young audience by sharing excerpts from the book, bringing history to life.

As part of the program, each child received a copy of Erie Canal Cousins to take home, encouraging literacy and a deeper connection to local history. The event was an opportunity for community engagement, fostering education and appreciation for the region’s heritage.
