Police arrest 2, seize more than two pounds of felony narcotics following Albany traffic stop

On June 23, 2026, State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit arrested Deszon J. Moore, 43, of Johnstown and Jonathan J. Soto, 37, of Brooklyn, NY each for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st, a class “A” felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felony.
Soto was also charged with vehicle and traffic law violations.
On June 23, 2026, at about 3:15 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle on Interstate 87 in Albany for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The driver was identified as Soto and the passenger as Moore. With the assistance of State Police K9 “Anson” the investigation discovered and seized more than two pounds of a substance that later field-tested positive for containing cocaine.
Soto and Moore were arrested and transported to Troop T, SP Albany for processing. They were both then transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
