Press Release
On April 17, 2026, New York State Police assigned to SP Tarrytown arrested Tulsiram Singh, 35, of Haverstraw, for Aggravated DWI.
At approximately 10:56 p.m. troopers responded to a vehicle fire on the New York State Thruway (I-87) near mile marker 14 southbound in the town of Greenburgh. Upon arrival at the location, troopers observed a male walking northbound on the southbound shoulder away from the vehicle, a 2023 Nissan Frontier, which was fully engulfed in flames.
Troopers began interviewing the individual, who was identified as Singh and the operator of the Nissan. Troopers observed signs of alcohol impairment and performed standardized field sobriety tests and a portable breath test, both of which returned positive for impairment.
Investigation also revealed that Singh struck the concrete barrier on the Thruway before his vehicle came to a stop, and that prior to his entry onto the Thruway, Singh struck several parked vehicles in the Palisades Mall parking lot.
Singh was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to SP Tarrytown for processing, where he submitted to a chemical breath test that indicated a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.21%.
Singh was charged with:
Driving While Intoxicated
Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, BAC 0.18% or more
Singh, who was not injured in the vehicle fire, was released to a sober third party and is due in Greenburgh Town Court on May 4, 2026.
