DOCCS Employee Found Deceased Inside Marcy Correctional Facility Office

Marcy, NY – The New York State Police are investigating an apparent suicide that occurred this morning inside an administrative building at the Marcy Correctional Facility in the Town of Marcy, Oneida County.

At approximately 8:05 a.m., a 55-year-old Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) employee was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Abdalla Hadian was employed by DOCCS as a civilian Imam and had recently returned to work following a medical leave.

No foul play is suspected at this time.  A handwritten note was recovered at the scene and is being translated as part of the ongoing investigation.

The body was transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.  Next of kin have been notified.

The investigation is being conducted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in cooperation with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.  DOCCS' Critical Incident Stress Management Team has been deployed to support Marcy's staff.
