AgriAmerica Expands Grape Processing in Chautauqua County NY

FREDONIA, N.Y. — A long-dormant juice factory in the heart of Chautauqua County is bubbling back to life, thanks to a major investment from AgriAmerica Fruit Products LLC. Governor Kathy Hochul announced today that the company has completed a $2.5 million revitalization of a 69,000-square-foot grape juice processing plant at 200 Water Street in Fredonia, bringing new energy—and economic promise—to Western New York’s grape belt.

The state-of-the-art facility now houses advanced grape processing machinery, expanding the region’s fruit production capacity and offering a powerful new resource for local grape farmers. The project, backed by the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council, is expected to boost an already thriving grape industry that supports more than 1,900 jobs and generates a staggering $340 million in economic impact annually.

“The expansion of AgriAmerica’s processing capabilities provides a much-needed production facility for Chautauqua County grape farmers,” said Governor Hochul. “We’re continuing to support the industries that make up the backbone of Upstate’s economy—agriculture, food manufacturing, and small-town innovation.”

Since acquiring the site in 2018, AgriAmerica has worked to transform the once-idle factory into a hub of productivity and innovation. The facility had sat unused for several years until this multi-million-dollar overhaul breathed new life into it.

Hope Knight, President and CEO of Empire State Development, added, “This is a shining example of what can happen when strategic investments meet local opportunity. AgriAmerica’s growth ensures local farmers have the support they need while fueling regional development.”

With Western New York already recognized as a grape-growing powerhouse—home to vineyards that supply juice makers across the nation—this expansion promises to keep the region competitive and thriving for years to come.

Stay tuned—Fredonia’s future just got a whole lot juicier. 🍇
